Cross River Rail Plan for Brisbane

Brian Brady Everton Park Real Estate | Latest News 8th April, 2010 No Comments
Just last week Anna Bligh announced that she wants to fast track the Cross River Rail Plan, meaning that Brisbane could have underground rail by 2016.

I think an underground rail network is just what Brisbane needs and with our population expected to double in the next 20 years it can’t come soon enough.

The Cross River Rail Project is expected to cost about $8 billion and take up a 19km corridor from Salisbury in the south to Wooloowin in the north via Park Road, Woolloongabba, the CBD and Bowen Hills.

Currently all sorts of tests and feasibility studies are underway but I look forward to hearing more news about the tunnel soon.
