As we go through life, our needs often change – kids might move out of home or you might get sick of looking after the garden. There are plenty reasons why you might contemplate selling your home and looking for something more suitable for your changing lifestyle. So what are your options if you’re looking to downsize?

  • Apartment Living: If you’re after convenience and more of an urban lifestyle then apartment living could be for you. If you live in an apartment you will have to get used to less space and sacrifice the backyard. However the great thing about apartments is that they’re centrally located and you probably won’t need to use the car as much.
  • Unit owners Unite! If you don’t think you can say goodbye to a garden, then a unit can offer you a little more room to move and a little bit of space to garden too! There are plenty of wonderful units in and around Everton Park and a lot of them are well-finished with open plan kitchens and good-sized bedrooms.
  • About Townhouses and Villas: If you want even more room than a unit than you should try looking at townhouses and villas. Townhouses and villas can be quite spacious and can come with large kitchens, more bedrooms and often a courtyard or a balcony. If you don’t want to lose too much space but are looking for convenient living than a townhouse or a villa is a good bet.

Once you have figured out where you want to live though, one of the trickiest parts of downsizing is figuring out what to do with all of your worldly belongings.

If you come back to my blog next week, I’ll be talking about how to deal with downsizing your furniture and stuff to fit into your new home.
