Do you have a pool at your property? If so, then you need to remember to register it by the end of the month or risk facing fines of up to $2000.
As of next month, all Queensland pools need to be placed on the pool safety register under new Queensland pool safety laws that aim to help prevent children from drowning.
The pool laws were supposed to be introduced earlier this year, however due to flood and cyclone recovery, the deadline for pool registration was extended until November 4 of this year.
New pool safety laws were also recently introduced, however local Queensland residents don’t need to worry about their pool complying with safety regulations just yet (there is still a few more years to meet standards), but what is important is that pools are registered.
It’s possible that your pool is already registered, if it is then you can check on the above website too.
If you have any concerns or questions regarding registering your pool then you can call the Pool Safety Council on 1800 340 634 or email PSC@dlgp.qld.gov.au
