With spring on its way, a lot of Everton Park residents have probably been feeling more inclined to spend their time outdoors where they can enjoy the pleasant weather. But if you’ve been hanging out in your backyard and thinking that it could be time for a makeover, then you’re reading the right blog this week.

If you’re looking to add new life into your backyard then there are plenty of ways to improve its look without having to dish out top dollar.

Here are a few suggestions to help you makeover your backyard for minimum cost:

Make Old Garden Furniture New Again

Outdoor furniture can be expensive but there are plenty of great deals around if you look hard enough. A great way to find bargains is by visiting flea markets & local garage sales. Sometimes all it takes is a coat of paint or a bit of sanding to make an old piece of furniture look like brand new again.

Find Lots of Green

The best part of being outdoors is being surrounded by plants and nature. So trim back all the old weeds in your garden and then find new plants to bring in fresh life. The best plants are native plants, so go to your nearest plant nursery and ask them for advice. If you want to save money buy seedlings as these are much cheaper than buying potted plants.

Invest in a barbeque

There’s nothing like having an outdoor barbeque with friends on weekends. You don’t need to get a top of the line BBQ though, shop around and see if you can find a bargain.

Clean Up

Sometimes all a garden needs is a bit of cleaning up, so get out there this weekend and clean away any leaves and garbage. While you’re at it, trim trees and plants to make your garden look neater.

There are lots of ways you can help improve the look of your garden, but remember it’s not so much how your garden looks, but how it makes you feel. It’s nice to have a quiet outdoor space where you can sit and relax or hang out with friends.

If you’ve got some before and after photos of ways that you’ve managed to liven up your garden then we would love to see them, so please feel free to share them on the I Love Everton Park Facebook page.
