Last Saturday most of celebrated the start of spring, but for local Stafford resident Eleanor Blaney, Saturday was the start of a challenging 900km journey through Vietnam.

We read about Eleanor’s extraordinary goal in a story in the North West News last week. According to the article, Eleanor is joining the first leg of a 5000km bike ride from Vietnam to Singapore to help raise awareness for cystic fibrosis and organ donation and to also help understand the challenges that cystic fibrosis sufferers face.

Eleanor was inspired to undertake the challenging journey by her friend, Walter van Praag, who has cystic fibrosis and who plans to undertake the entire 5000km journey.

The full journey will take two months, finishing up on November 3, and Eleanor’s journey will take 2 weeks.

We hope that lots of people in Everton Park are inspired by Eleanor and Walter’s journey, and we can all help support them in their mission by heading to www.coughing4cf.com and making a donation.

Good luck Eleanor!
