Whether or not you wanted daylight savings in South-East Queensland it looks like it won’t be happening, as government MPs voted earlier this week against a referendum or a trial on the matter.
This is despite a recent Queensland poll which showed that 63 per cent of people were in favour of having a referendum on daylight savings while only 35 per cent were against the idea.
But according to Premier Anna Bligh the majority of regional Queensland was against the idea of introducing a split time zone, where the south-east corner would have daylight savings but the rest of Queensland would not.
What do you think? Are you disappointed that Queensland will not be having a trial or a referendum for daylight savings?
