A lot of Everton Park homes have a standard 1 or 2 car garage, and yet I’ve noticed that a lot of people still park their cars on the driveway or on the street!
It’s possible that a lot of households simply own a lot of cars, but I think there’s also a good chance that a lot of garages are doing other work.
So what do you use your garage for? Perhaps it is used as a rumpus room or maybe a place to keep all of your tools or garden equipment. I know of a lot of people who also use their garage as a storage room.
But if we are using our garages just to store old things, are we really making full use of that extra space?
If your garage is full of old things that you never use, maybe it’s time to give it a clean out and put it to better use. You could use it as an extra room (maybe you have a teenager that needs more space) or you could even use it for its intended purpose – to store cars.
Once you clean out your garage though, you may find that you don’t really need a garage at all! It seems that more and more developments in urban areas don’t include them!
This may seem a little odd, but when you think about it, it costs less to build these types of developments (and therefore less to buy) and people are using public transport more and more. Although most people still do have cars, so it is still important to at least have off-street parking.
What do you think? Do we need to have a garage? If you have one, what do you use it for?
