In my last blog I talked about keeping your Everton Park real estate nice and warm during the cold weather, but it’s not just our homes we need to keep warm – we obviously need to keep ourselves warm too, and one of the best ways to do this is with nice, warm food!
Winter food is probably one of the best things about the cooler months, but over this time it’s also important that we have lots of healthy food to keep our immune systems fighting strong!
One very comforting food, that also happens to be healthy too, is good old-fashioned soup! If you choose a soup that is full of nutritious and healthy vegetables then you’ll be helping to boost your immune system. Plus hot soups always feel great if you already have a cold or a sore throat.
Another great food for those cold winter mornings would have to be porridge. Eating porridge is a great way to kick start your day, and if you find the taste a bit bland than you might like to add in some fresh, healthy fruit too!
When choosing winter meals, you should be trying to include immune boosters such as vitamin C, garlic and/or zinc, which all have great properties for helping to fight off those winter bugs.
So this winter, indulge in warm and healthy winter food, to help keep you warm and healthy.
