So what do we all think about the new “Come Together Brisbane” campaign, launched by Lord Mayor Graham Quirk this week?
If you’ve missed it – the Lord Mayor is imploring Brisbane to sell their message that Brisbane is “still open for Business”, following the January floods, encouraging the rest of the country and indeed the world to get behind Brisbane so we can get back on our feet, financially. The campaign also aims to show the recovery of our more ‘iconic’ cultural landmarks such as Southbank, Suncorp Stadium, West End, and the Brisbane Powerhouse.
The campaign involves a television ad (including a cover version of “Come Together” by local Brisbane band “Hungry Kids of Hungary”), billboards, print advertisements and the pièce de résistance:…a huge interactive website where Brisbane locals are encouraged to share their flood experiences with the global community and gives residents a chance to design their own campaign, outlining why Brisbane is better than ever.
Over $3 million worth of print advertising space and radio airtime has been donated.
