Anybody who commutes from Everton Park into the city everyday for work will know that it can be extremely frustrating at times due to traffic congestion on some of our main roads.
Many local residents are hoping that upgrades to the intersection located at Wardell Street and Samford Road in Enoggera will help ease some of the Northside’s traffic problems though.
According to an article in North West News, the Wardell Street/Samford Road intersection will undergo a $91 million upgrade, which will commence in October this year. The first stage of the upgrade will include adding an extension to the left hand turn lane on Wardell Street, which will allow more than 10 extra cars to wait in the turning lane. Later works will include widening the intersection to increase the number of turning lanes.
Since a lot of Everton Park residents will be affected by the upgrades on Wardell Street and Samford Road, it is well worth reading the plans and the benefits of the upgrade by visiting the Department of Transport and Main Roads website and searching for “Samford Wardell”.
