The weather is starting to warm up in Everton Park and that means that storm season isn’t too far away.
Last year I wrote a blog with tips on how to prepare your home for summer storms, but to help encourage local residents to clean up their homes in preparation for the upcoming storm season, the Brisbane City Council is offering free green waste disposal weekends.
There are four transfer stations that Everton Park residents might like to utilise, located at 1402 Nudgee Road, Nudgee; 360 Sherbrooke Road, Willawong; 101 Upper Kedron Road, Ferny Grove; and Tilley Road, Chandler.
The weekends that you can take advantage of the free green waste disposal are the weekends of October 8 – 9 and October 15 – 16, and the transfer stations are open from 6.30am to 5.45pm.If you do plan on visiting a waste transfer station then remember to bring along photo ID or a Council rates notice as proof of identity.
Whether or not local residents take advantage of the free green waste disposal it is very important that we all clean up our backyards before storm season arrives to help keep ourselves and our property safe from harm.
