You can now view the historic features of Brisbane’s heritage listed homes and buildings by checking out a new online heritage register database.

On the online database you can find out basic details and interesting facts about some of Brisbane’s oldest properties and established homes.

For example, in Everton Park one of the properties listed on the heritage register is Carter’s Piggery, located on Pine Road.

This old farmhouse was built in 1919 and as the name suggests it used to be a piggery, until it was forced to close down after World War II, when it became a residential property.

It is really interesting to see the origins and the history behind some of the buildings we see everyday, and whether you live in Everton Park or any other suburb in the Brisbane City Council area, you may want to check out the heritage register to find out the history behind the buildings near you.
