This month, Everton Park residents are bound to notice a few more moustaches around town than usual.
Don’t worry the facial hair trend isn’t a new fashion craze, but rather an effort to help raise money for Movember.
Every November, the Movember charity takes place to help raise much needed funds and awareness for men’s health issues, in particular depression and prostate cancer.
Money is raised by men growing their moustaches through November and seeking sponsorship while they do so.
The Movember movement started back in 2004 and since then it has gone global, with more than 1.1 million people around the world having participated in the event so far.
It’s not hard for men to get involved in Movember this year. All they have to do is start with a clean face, and then let their mo grow free. The rules of Movember are quite strict though, in that no sideburns or handlebars are allowed to join onto the mo.
If you can’t grow a mo though, don’t worry because you can still help by donating directly to the cause or by helping one of your mo bros out.
So head on over to www.movember.com.au if you want to help make a positive difference to men’s health issues.
