If you follow our blog you may remember a post from awhile ago about the planned changes on Samford Road and Wardell Street to help ease the congestion in the area.
Well there have been further developments on the plans and they may mean resumptions of housing to make way for the new road infrastructure.
The plans so far include the construction of a new Everton Park Link Road, which would divert traffic through the proposed Woolworths development. Further plans also involve improvements to the existing Stafford-South Pine Rd intersection.
So far it’s predicted that about 30 properties may be resumed as part of the project and this is likely to happen next year at some stage.
Properties that may be affected by the planned changes should have already received notice and community consultation has already begun to help refine the plans.
Those who already use the roads in this area, will know that they are notorious for holding up the flow of traffic during peak hours, so while some local residents can expect to experience disruptions soon, it will hopefully help make traffic less painful in the long-run.
No doubt we will be hearing a lot more about the plans for Samford Road and Wardell Street over the coming months, but if you would like to find information on the planned developments you can visit the Transport and Main Roads website.
What are your thoughts on the road upgrades?
