Now that the State elections are over, it’s time to start thinking about who we want to vote into Government in the local Government elections.
In helping you decide who to vote for; you might like to think about the issues that concern you in Everton Park and the greater area, and whether or not any of our local candidates have policies that will affect the issues that are most important to you.
To provide some food for thought, or perhaps to help voice your opinions, you may like to head over to the Quest Community Newspapers website where they are running an online survey aimed at finding out what issues matter to the local community. These issues will then be lobbied to the local council.
It’s important for the local government to understand what’s important to the local community, so that we are all happy with the place that we live in.
The local government election will be held on April 28 and you can find out all information regarding the election at www.ecq.qld.gov.au.
Before the election takes place though, take the time to read the letters in the mail from your local candidates, or maybe even give them a call, so that you can vote in the person or party who will tackle the local issues that are important to you.
