Results from Australia’s 2011 Census of Population and Housing have now been released, and many people have been poring over them to learn more about Australia’s changing population trends.
Everton Park residents have been particularly interested in the Census results that relate to our local community, so in today’s post we will talk about Everton Park’s Census figures.
When the Census took place in August last year, the suburb of Everton Park was home to 8,325 people and females outnumbered males, making up 51.2 per cent of the population.
Everton Park’s population was made up of 2,311 families, with the average family unit being a couple without children (42.5%). Of those families in Everton Park that did have children, the average amount of children was 1.7.
Most people in Everton Park lived in a separate house that was either owned outright (34.3%) or owned with a mortgage (32.6%). Rentals accounted for 30.9% of local dwellings.
The median household income for Everton Park households last year was $1,346, with households paying a median monthly mortgage of $1,950, and a median weekly rent of $340.
