Who here travels around using a go-card? Well if you answered no then now is the time to jump on the bandwagon, because Translink are offering go-cards with $10 of free credit that can be used to travel on Brisbane’s buses, trains and ferries.
The move is all part of a plan to start getting commuters to use the new smart cards system. There has been a bit of controversy over the initiative however, with Robert Dow from the public transport lobby group, Rail: Back on Track, believing that the ones who have been piloting the system should be the ones getting rewarded with free credit.
Anybody is able to get their hands on the $10 credit though, with those who already own a card simply needing to get a new (free) one.
There are only 400,000 go-cards with the free credit being given away and you must apply by the 4th July. So if you want the extra credit you better get in quick.
