When Will the Rain Stop?

“Rain, rain, go away” is the statement of the moment here in Brisbane and while the rainy weather is expected to ease a little over the next couple of days, we are still in store for some more wet days ahead.

The biggest concern that locals have when the rainy weather doesn’t stop is the backyards flooding and getting caught in traffic.

To help protect your property there are a number of things you can do. The Brisbane City Council has already prepared a checklist of items that local residents should go through to make sure their home is prepared or protected against flooding. Follow this link to check out the Brisbane City Council’s advice.

As for making sure you don’t get caught out in traffic during heavy rain, it is a good idea to keep up to date with traffic reports and weather warnings. Visit traffic.brisbane.qld.gov.au for local traffic reports and visit www.bom.gov.au for the latest weather reports.

Lastly for residents who have already had flood damage to your property, you can dispose of waste free this weekend at Brisbane City Council transfer stations and you can dispose of green waste for free throughout all of October.

Hopefully the rainy weather let’s up soon and in the meantime keep safe Brisbane!
