Time to Celebrate being Australian

Now, more than ever, Australian’s need a chance to relax and celebrate all of the things that make us very fortunate to live in this country.

That’s why on January 26, Australian’s should take a break from cleaning, working or whatever it is, and just enjoy a day spending time with friends and family.

Australia Day is traditionally a day to celebrate the anniversary of the arrival of the First Fleet in 1788, but now it has evolved into a day of backyard BBQs, cricket and all of those things that characterise being Australian.

After the events Brisbane has been going through over the last week, Australia Day is more important than ever, as we remember how lucky we are to live in a country that supports us in times of disaster and sticks together through tough times.

Whether you decide to go and celebrate on Australia Day, or just use the day as a chance to stay home and relax, I hope everyone has a great day and is proud to be called an “Aussie”.
