In my last couple of blogs I gave some tips for those selling their home, but a successful sale can also come down to simply choosing the right real estate agent.
Many first-time sellers out there may simply opt for the real estate agent who gives the highest value at an appraisal, but the agent offering the highest price isn’t necessarily the best choice.
Before choosing a real estate agent it’s best to do your research first, just as you would with anything else. Look for an agent that has a good reputation in the area and who has proven track results. Try asking your family and friends for recommendations and do searches on the internet.
When you find a real estate agent you like then find out what services they can offer to help you and what options you have in regards to marketing. Also try and gauge early on whether or not the agent is committed to offering feedback and communication.
If you ask an experienced seller for advice on choosing the best agent, they will likely warn against going for the agent with the lowest commission and highest price.
A house is most people’s greatest asset and so you want to make sure that you put it in the hands of a real estate agent you trust and who has an exceptional reputation in their local community.
