Making Every Hour Earth Hour in Everton Park

The streets of Everton Park might look a little darker than usual this Saturday night, when homes and businesses turn off their lights for one hour, to help spread the message of Earth Hour.

The idea of Earth Hour is to encourage people to turn off their lights and electrical appliances for just one hour, to help get the message out there that energy conservation is an important issue and one that we should all take part in.

This year Earth Hour wants us all to “go beyond the hour” though and incorporate energy saving activities in our day to day lives.

For instance we can all do little things, like turning lights and appliances off when they’re not in use, or maybe walking or riding to work instead of driving. Follow this link for lots of suggestions on how you can change your habits to help conserve energy and our planet’s valuable resources.

So this Saturday from 8:30pm to 9:30pm let’s all switch our lights off for one hour and start making changes that will help reduce our impact on the environment.
