A very popular home decorating style over the past few years has been to have a “feature wall” in the house, which is a wall that is painted a different colour to the rest of the walls in house. But are feature walls still popular?
Many people are still deciding to paint feature walls in their homes, and it’s possible that a feature wall will still be “in” in one way or another. But whether or not a feature wall will add to your home’s appeal will depend on the style of your home and the look you are trying to achieve.
These days is seems like a lot of people are foregoing the feature wall and keeping their paint colours plain and simple. This is a good idea if you plan on selling your home in the not-too-distant future, as then your paint choices will appeal to most people’s tastes.
The biggest problem with feature walls is that they are generally done in bright, stand-out colours which can look great at first, but can look dated very quickly. So if you don’t want to paint your home every few years then you’re better off sticking with classic, neutral colours.
If you have a more upmarket home though, that can get away with bold colour schemes, or if you don’t mind repainting every few years, then you may want to go a little crazier with your decorating choices.
If you are having trouble picking the colours for your Everton Park real estate, or aren’t sure if you would like a feature wall, then it’s a good idea to visit your local paint or hardware store for advice. Some places even have colour consultants who will come to your home and offer personalised advice.
It can be tricky trying to figure out the best paint colours for your home, but if you do a little bit of research first and pick colours that suit the style of your home then you’re sure to be onto a winner!
