Everton Park’s Walking Groups

Everton Park Latest News | What's Happening in Everton Park 13th July, 2011 No Comments
One of the great things about Everton Park is that there are plenty of great places to go for a nice stroll and there are plenty of community walking groups around who enjoy exploring our neck of the woods.

Many people may not be aware of it, but walking not only feels great but it also comes with plenty of benefits too. Walking regularly can help improve your fitness and health and if you walk with a group it provides a great way to socialise and enjoy the company of your friends.

In Everton Park we have a number of walking groups around that people can join in on. There’s a group called “Gonewalking Everton Park” that meets up at Everton Plaza on Mondays at 6pm, and walks at a medium pace for an hour every week.

If you’d rather walk in the mornings, there is also the “Everton Park Early Risers”, who walk on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 6am. This group meets at the rotunda at the corner of Griffith Street and Gordon Parade and walks at a slow pace.

There are many more groups around the area though, and if you visit the Heart Foundation website you can even find a list of walking groups in the area. If you can’t find any walking groups that you like though, or that don’t take place at the right time, then why not simply start up one of your own?
