Next week is National Literacy and Numeracy Week (NLNW), which is a week that highlights the importance of literacy and numeracy skills.

The week is aimed at all children and young people, particular children in school, and there’s likely to be plenty of fun NLNW events at Everton Park State School next week that help make literacy and numeracy an exciting subject for the students to learn.

As well as highlighting the importance of literacy and numeracy skills, NLNW is also about recognising the achievements of students, parents, teachers and members of the community who help support the development of these essential skills in young people.

So next week, let’s help congratulate the people in the Everton Park community who help teach our young people literacy and numeracy skills, and let’s also support those who are learning them.

If you would like to find out more about National Literacy and Numeracy Week and perhaps pick up some tips on how you can help develop these important skills for your child, then head to www.literacyandnumeracy.gov.au.
