If you live in the property you’re planning to sell than chances are it will be furnished, but what if it’s not? And does it matter whether the property you’re selling is furnished or not?
There are differing points of view on this topic and it may not make too much difference either way, but I thought I would provide some pros and cons of each scenario for those who are wondering whether or not their property needs furniture in it to help sell.
If you’re still living in the property you’re selling, then your belongings can help make it feel more inviting, and it might even help potential buyers picture themselves living in the property. In this scenario though, it is important to make sure that your furniture is neat and tidy and that overall your property presents well.
If the property you’re selling is vacant though, this has the advantage of showing buyers every square centimetre of every room and picture how their own belongings may look. On the other hand though, much like a display home, it can be more visually appealing for potential buyers to see furniture and fresh flowers around a property.
If you’re selling a vacant property, it may be a good idea to hire furniture for the duration of the selling process. Talk to your real estate about this and whether or not this is a good idea for your property.
Overall whether your home is furnished or not, it’s all about presentation and attracting the right kind of buyers to your property. Make sure everything is clean and tidy and that everything looks well-maintained, particularly areas like the yard and the pool.
